INES is proud to have been part of the 6th Biennial Conference of the Western
Balkans Evaluators’ Network (WBEN). Our representatives, Ms. Svetlana
Stanarevic, Mr. Ivan Tasic, Mr. Mihajlo Djukic, Ms. Teodora Lukovic and Mr. Marko
Pesic had an opportunity to participate at the conference and present the latest
trends in evaluation, especially in the development of national evaluation systems
and youth policy in the Western Balkans. The conference was held in Sarajevo,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the period 16-18 October 2025 and gathered
participants from the host country, Croatia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, and Serbia,
with guest speakers from the USA, Republic of South Africa, and the EU.
This conference marks the continuation of efforts to promote evaluation methods
across the Western Balkan region, with focus on further development of expert
networks and streamlining the positive practices in evaluation. All participants and
panelists had opened up numerous thematic topics that will further be discussed
within the WBEN network, emphasizing the joint desire for institutional establishment
of evaluation culture across the region. INES will, accordingly, share the
conference’s findings with its members and continue a good practice of knowledge-
sharing.
